(Prerequisites: None) This workshop guides you through the writing process
for each section of your resume: contact information,
objective, hightlights of qualifications, work experience,
and education, so that you leave with a handwritten draft, ready
for typing. You will also learn about different resume types, formatting
and gain some tips from Career experts.

Building Part 1) You will learn the
basic principles of good résumé writing,
why résumés are so important, what format
and type will work best for you and what you should
consider when posting your résumé online.

WINWAY
(1 1/2 hrs) (Prerequisite: Keyboard, mouse skills, a handwritten resume; also, customers must bring a flash drive on which to save the completed
résumé) Once you have a handwritten draft of your resume, you need to give it a finished look by typing it on the computer.
This workshop shows you how to use WinWay Resume program to type your resume so that it is ready for you to use for job searching.

and typed résumé) The Résumé Doctor is an
experienced résumé writer who will spend ten to twenty
minutes critiquing your completed résumé draft and will make
recommendations for improvement. |

résumé. This workshop will teach you what you
need to know to create a cover
letter that can be customized for
each job opportunity. |

Job objective or choice of field) This workshop
teaches you how to access jobs in the hidden job
market by expanding personal and professional contacts
through referrals. Basic rules of networking, tips
on self-promotion and telephone skills are the main

the basics of successful job interviewing and provides

on the strengths brought to the workplace
by experienced workers. We'll discuss experiences and develop proactive

workshop teaches you to use the JobCentral.com web
site, which gives you access
to all of the jobs that have been posted
by CareerPoint, FutureWorks, and the Northampton and Greenfield Career
Centers, as well as jobs listed by employers nationwide.

USING E-MAIL IN YOUR JOB
SEARCH (2 hrs) (Prerequisite:
Finding Jobs on JobCentral.com) Learn how to
register for and use a free e-mail account. Become
familiar with sending and receiving e-mail. This
class emphasizes learning the
correct formats for e-mailing résumés including copying and
pasting, or attaching a résumé to e-mail, and
when each is appropriate. You will also learn
how to save a word-processed résumé as a
text file.
